Greta O'Leary unveils new video for single 'Honey babe'
Pōneke’s alt-folk songwriter Greta O’Leary has unveiled a new visual for her single ‘Honey babe’.
‘Honey Babe’ is a shufflin' slow dance. A decided twist on the classic love song, it’s a seductive, gentle farewell.
“I knew exactly the kind of aesthetic Honey babe needed and we found the perfect kitchen to film it. I wanted the gentleness and nostalgia of the song to come through while still being a strong turning away.”
A gentle and timeless take on love and leaving, ‘Honey babe’ is the gift of goodbye, and the sweetest love song in reverse.
The third single from her debut EP Treasure Horse , ‘Honey babe’ was recorded at Massey University Studios and Homerun Productions, with mixing by Toby Lloyd.
A self proclaimed dreamer and late bloomer, Põneke’s Greta O’Leary began releasing in early 2022 with her first single ‘Outnumbered’, charting on independent radio stations, and gained 140,000 views for its self directed music video.
Her spacious and pervasive sound, held gently with a sensitive full band, centres her dynamic voice, soothing and disrupting us with stories of grief, love, and belonging, wrapped in nostalgic and archetypal imagery.
