Jesse Wilde's new Single 'Rambling William' and album 'Headin' South'

Auckland based Americana artist Jesse Wilde is due to release a new single ‘Rambling William’ and album ‘Headin’ South’ simultaneously on Friday the 1st October.

Of the single Jesse says, “I wrote this song after driving Route 66 and stopping at a town called Fort Sumner's in New Mexico where the Notorious outlaw Billy The Kid is buried. After viewing his grave stone and a museum built in his honor I had a dream that night that Billy and I were friends, back in the days of old. I woke up, picked up my guitar and this song just flowed out. It's a story song and in my version of the events, Billy is a misunderstood good guy and, with my help, he gets away from the authorities and settles in Mexico!”

Jesse’s songs are a unique Southern Country Rock Americana flavour due to a diet of on the music of the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Paul Simon, Bob Seger, and Fleetwood Mac when growing up, developing his own interest in Springsteen, Mellencamp, Dylan and Steve Earle & the Dukes.

Jesse's first major band, Acoustic Attitude toured extensively overseas including the UK, Europe and North America. During a ‘Rock Pilgrimage’ of his musical influences, he met and played with John "Cougar" Mellencamp, Bob Seger and Steve Earle. Jesse spent several months writing and performing in the US.

He co-wrote the song ‘Ghost Town Road’ with Rick Beresford who has a gold record for a song he wrote for George Jones titled ‘If Drinking Doesn’t Kill Me her Memory will.

Jesse’s current bands are The Jesse Wilde Band and The Wilde Storey trio. Jesse has built his own ‘state of the art’ Recording Studio and Venue (Studio 38) where he records and mixes some of his own albums as well as those of other popular New Zealand and international artists.

‘Rambling William’ is out this Friday 1st October on Spotify. Presave on Spotify here.
