NEW SINGLE FOR SAL VALENTINE & THE BABYSHAKES
'Elizabeth, I've Been a Fool' is the new single from Sal Valentine (aka Ivan Luketina-Johnston) the band's songwriter and frontman.
The track embraces an aggressive rhythm section, punchy horns, lush backing vocals, heart-on-sleeve lyrical delivery, but these elements have been repackaged. The majority of the band's earlier material was written when Sal was in a stable relationship. The new material, and that of which you'll hear on 'Elizabeth, I've Been a Fool' has lost it's optimism in order to portray an utterly relatable circumstance, calling on a friend for help and support.
Currently busy working on a full length album which is due for release mid 2017, The Babyshakes are drawing influence from neo-soul, modern R&B and classic rock, whilst retaining an undeniable pop sensibility.
Their single release show with special guests Ijebu Pleasure Club, Charlie Freak, and Soccer Practice is happening at The Kings Arms Tavern on Sunday October 23rd
