Songbroker Welcomes Darren Pickering

Songbroker is pleased to welcome one of our newest artists, Darren Pickering.

Pickering is a Christchurch-based jazz pianist, composer, and educator. A graduate of the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology, he has worked as a music tutor at Ara Music Arts.

Outside of his teaching work, Pickering has performed and toured with a number of renowned internatonal artists, and national ones such as Julia Deans, Dave Dobbyn, and Anika Moa. 

Pickering's cinematic, jazzy soundscapes are a fine blend of contemporary, while still maintaining its classic jazz conventions.
