Juliet McLean’s new single ‘This is Our Love’
Juliet McLean’s new single ‘This is Our Love’ will be released on October 26.
“Mature love endures seasons - steamy beginnings, first fights, boredom, loss…it considers the choice to stay or to go. Sometimes a change of perspective can renew a relationship and move it forward to the next step.”
The accompanying video to ‘This is Our Love’ is a creative collaboration with visual artist and multi-instrumentalist Ché Rogers and will be released on October 28.
“Che’s circle art is a visual representation of turning, twirling, cycling, spinning - a main concept in this song. We had a lot of fun and will be doing a live collaboration at CAS gallery (New Plymouth) for the single release”.
Keyboard player and singer McLean continues to evolve as a songwriter and her latest recording shows a return to a fuller band sound. Produced by Ben King (Goldenhorse,Grand Rapids) the song also features Ben’s delightful harmonies intermingled with Godfrey De Grut’s tenor saxophone parts. Featuring Milan Borich - drums, Jonathan Burgess - upright bass, and recorded by Nick Abbott and Ben King at North-Western Recorders.
McLean was raised and still lives in Taranaki under the steady presence of Te Maunga O Taranaki beside the ever-changing west coast sea – a perfect allegory for this continually evolving, talented artist.
A gifted storyteller, her song's poetic themes straddle the bittersweet paradox of human experience in love, life and family.
