Songbroker Welcomes Juliet McLean
Songbroker is very pleased to welcome the music of Juliet McLean to the catalogue.
Juliet McLean is an independent musician and songwriter who has performed both as a solo artist and with the band O Juliet. Her music is influenced by poetry and years of singing jazz standards, but the output is her own blend that touches on indie folk and gentle rock.
A gifted storyteller by nature, her songs straddle the bittersweet paradox of human experience in love, life and family and she enthrals listeners with intriguing storytelling, emotive minimalism, and a rare authenticity.
McLean released her debut EP ‘The Dance’ in 2015 and full-length album ‘Unlash the Boats’ in 2019 to warm reviews, radio play listing and featuring on RNZ's Live to Air with Bryan Crump. She is currently working with producer Ben King (Goldenhorse, Grand Rapids) and will be releasing her new EP in October 2022.
McLean was raised and still lives in Taranaki under the steady presence of Te Maunga O Taranaki next to the ever-changing west coast sea - a perfect allegory for the work of this continuing evolving talented artist.
