Songbroker Welcomes Renee Louise-Carafice
Songbroker is delighted to welcome the music of Renee Louise-Carafice to the catalogue.
This experimental pop songstress first stepped into the spotlight in 2008 with her critically acclaimed album ‘Renee-Louise Carafice Tells You to Fight’; a collection of songs she had penned while hospitalized in a mental health facility. The debut album took a difficult topic which has all-too-often been misrepresented in the media, and gracefully defined things from an insider's perspective.
There were moments of desperate sadness in that album, but the listener came away with an overall sense of hope. ‘Tells You to Fight’ preached hope with total conviction; it celebrated the concept of redemption. It's this careful juxtaposition of pain and beauty that has been a unique trademark of Carafice's from the very beginning.
Fans of Renee-Louise Carafice are familiar with her visceral compassion to the point of tears. Through her music and her writing, she builds bridges of understanding between things we fear and things we love. Flinging herself gloriously from gentleness to beat-yer-ass authority, she tells stories a lot of people never come back to tell.
