Montgomery's new single 'Lonely, Only'
Auckland based alternate rock artist Montgomery has just released his new single ‘Lonely, Only’ - the follow up to his previous release ‘Wasteland’.
Montgomery is an emerging artist, with a grungy and new wave sound centred around ideas of love, pain, loneliness and disillusion.
The vulnerability of his songs is accented through his alternative, guitar driven sound - influenced largely by his love for classic indie rock. Montgomery experiments with confronting topics about himself and those around him in an honest and sincere way.
His first single “Wasteland” released in October 2020 and was received warmly by audiences all over the world.
‘Lonely, Only’ begins with a sparse tender electric guitar melody. As Montgomery’s deep soulful voice sets the scene, the song builds with washes of synth, sparkling guitar modulations and intense bursts of reverb percussion, culminating in an uplifting, emotive cacophony of sound.
