Fortress Europe & Moonflower deliver darkly delirious EP '1925-1988'
Fortress Europe & Moonflower are pleased to announce the release of their new EP 1925-1988, and the propulsive second single and accompanying video 'Sigilator'.
1925-1988 is a delirious lockdown collaboration between award-winning composer Leon Radojkovic of Fortress Europe, and Scott Satherley of Auckland doom juggernauts Demons of Noon, working under the moniker Moonflower. The EP combines the cinematic Eastern European fervour and instrumental sophistication of Fortress Europe with the gothic Mama's & The Papa's vocals and weird poetry of Moonflower. The result is a primal and emotive psychedelic odyssey and ecstatic confrontation of existential angst, romantic longing and erotic mysticism.
The EP's propulsive second single 'Sigilator' is a feverish dance track featuring hypnotic and elliptical vocals from Satherley and Brodie Hoare, backed by Turkish saz, Croatian tamburica, surf guitar and heavy synth bass and beats.
The musical world of 1925-1988 is accompanied by rich imagery and videos by Satherley, an accomplished visual artist, combining provocative cinematic fragmentation and superimposition with elements of Balkan architecture, traditional embroidery patterns and religious illumination.
