Sonic Space Lab film soundtrack 'Interrelated Earth'

Venezuelan composer and sound engineer Luis Rodriguez (aka Sonic Space Lab) has just unveiled the soundtrack he composed for the Lauren Schaer’s student documentary short Rhapsody for a Rock Wren

While writing and recording new music for what will be Luis’ next release, fellow band member in Tomahawk Radio, Jeff Avery asked if he'd like to write and record some music for a student short film about the human connection to nature.

“I actually felt very close to the subject after speaking with the film maker”, says Luis “and we were both on the same page regarding the music so it ended up being a great opportunity to explore a more cinematic side of electronic music and a non-traditional scoring style.”

As Luis recalls “First thing that Lauren said to me was that she didn’t want the old BBC orchestral score you hear on every nature documentary, so after sending each other a couple of tracks from other composers we knew this would be a fun project to work on”.

The short film was shot at Mount Aspiring National Park and features the alpine Rock Wren but it addresses more profound themes like Ecopsychology and Biophilia. The score features 6 instrumental tracks in an ambient electronic style and it’s just around 15 minutes long.

Although the short film might not be available to the public for a while, Interrelated Earth is now available on all streaming platforms.
