Songbroker Song of the Day: Adrian Hollay - 'The Play is Memory'
Creating evocative, atmospheric and melodic music is Adrian Hollay's main motivation as a composer. Over the past decade he has written music for drama, documentaries and animated films.
He regularly works for New Zealand's foremost theatre company, the Auckland Theatre Company, recently designing sound and composing music for The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, Other Desert Cities by Jon Robin Baitz and Howard Brenton's Anne Boleyn.
‘The Play is Memory’ is a beautiful melancholy piece featuring just violin and piano and has a cyclic gently tumbling structure.
