Songbroker Welcomes Lizard Prom

Songbroker is very pleased to welcome Lizard Prom to the catalogue.

Lizard Prom are a four-piece alternative rock band from Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

Previously named Queens of Beauty School, the group originally formed in mid-2014 and were known for their moody, atmospheric rock; dreamy, with an aggressive undercurrent. During this period the band opened for Jakob and The Veils, as well as playing various local shows.

After a hiatus in 2018 the band regrouped at the start of 2019 and renamed themselves as Lizard Prom, continuing with the sound they had established in the years prior. Following this they recorded and released their self-titled debut EP, featuring the single โ€˜Betty Goes to Hellโ€™ along with the accompanying video. The track stayed in the Radio One Top 11 for 12 weeks, peaking at number 1 in February. It was also playlisted by 95bFM.

Continuing to play live regularly in their hometown of Hawkes Bay, Lizard Prom have built up a reputation as an exciting live act with chaotic energy.

They most recently opened for Beastwars on the Napier stop of their late 2019 tour.
