Alan Brown releases new album 'Wind and Wire'

Alan Brown has been a mainstay of the New Zealand jazz scene for many years, from his award-winning band Blue Train in the 1990s through to current work with NZ jazz icon Nathan Haines. While highly regarded for his keyboard and Hammond organ skills, his recent work explores the more ambient side of improvised music alongside electronica.

Today he releases his latest recording project Wind and Wire. Following on from the piano-based improvisations of Silent Observer and Composure, Wind and Wire has a similar ambient focus, but delves more heavily into electronica and industrial-tinged soundscapes. Many of the pieces developed from sonic explorations and improvisations partly inspired by these textures.
