Songbroker welcomes Erin Myers
Songbroker is very pleased to welcome the songs of Erin Myers to the roster.
Myers is originally from the U.S. but has called New Zealand home for most of her life. Her parents joke that her love of music started in the womb at a B.B. King concert in the States. She wrote her first song at the age of 16 and has become more visible in her local music scene over the last few years.
Erin was a finalist in the 2019 Play it Strange Lion Foundation Songwriting Competition with her song ‘Falling Further’. She also headlined her own show at the 2019 Hamilton Fringe Festival.
Her warm and layered vocals are soaked with a maturity and emotion that belie her age. Her style is intimate and moody, and her voice blends beautifully with the instruments she plays – the ukulele acoustic guitar and piano.
Her musical tastes are wide-ranging, but she has been primarily influenced by the likes of Billie Eilish, Kimbra, The Neighbourhood and Radiohead.
Now based in Wellington NZ, she is earning a degree in Commercial Music and is enjoying becoming part of the local music scene while writing her next album.
