Rapper Freddy Reynold turns heads with new track 'Blessed'
When Mai FM jump-started the release of ‘Blessed’ with a feature on Feedback Friday last month, the response from the public and DJ's alike was overwhelmingly positive, recognising Freddy as someone on the brink of 'blowing up', with comparisons to rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
Freddy is a 25-year-old Samoan, hailing loud and proud from South Auckland.
His first release was the 2018 EP Press Play. Since then he's been building new material in collaboration with producer Abraham Kunin, who also works with Teeks and Home Brew. ‘Blessed’ is an initial taste of Freddy's new direction with Kunin.
Influenced by the likes of Big L, David Dallas and Talib Kweli, Freddy coins himself a considerate creative, motivated to make music which makes his audience feel positive and confident in their own skin.
