Songbroker Artist Profile: Abby Holden

Moving to London from a rural upbringing in Tamahere, New Zealand, was a natural step in Abby Holden’s musical career.

Her early days saw the formation of the band Skyla, who performed live on the national Good Morning Show in NZ and opened for Midge Marsden in Raglan.

But the vibrant London scene was the perfect place for Abby as a solo artist, to build her fan base and hone her ‘triple threat’ status of singer/songwriter/producer, - catching the eye of labels in the UK and NZ.

Holden has written for Songbroker, Nottinghill Music Group, Rose Culture, ELZ, Zain Worldwide and artists all over the world.

She has opened for Tori Kelly (Glasgow), played as the guitarist for Bridget Kelly (London) and has performed several shows in NY at venues Cafe Vivaldi, The Bitter End & Rockwood Music Hall.

Holden signed to Songbroker in early 2015 and has had tracks placed on various TV series and commercials.

Abby has released 9 studio albums to date, including the prolific quadruple album drop on November 5th, 2019 comprised of the albums Bombastic Fables, Flippant Comfort, Muted Carnival and Live at the Kids Table.

Written and produced by Holden at her home studio and at Starcity Studios in London. Collaborators include:

Brad Morgan (Lead guitarist Magic Eye, NZ)

ELZ (ELZ and the cult, Turkey)

Jay Picasso (Starcity studios, UK)

Michael Monley (USA)

Mike Todd (UK)

Marc Jones (UK)

Jay King (Independent rapper, USA)
