New double single for Brookes & Johnstone
Music making duo Brookes & Johnstone have just release a double single via their Bandcamp page.
'Something in the Way That' is a slice of romantic dream pop about a guy wondering how to speak to a woman of extraordinary means. ‘Always’ is an electro pop song - dedicated to those who have sacrificed in the name of justice, peace and freedom. Living and dead. Tortured, executed, persecuted and triumphant.
Zed Brookes and Andrew Johnstone met at Mobil Hillcrest, Hamilton sometime in the mid-1980s. In 1995 they released their debut album The Wallflower, a sort of sci-fi country album which sold around 240 copies.
Since 2015 Brookes & Johnstone quietly evolved into a boutique label called Rhythmstick with a small roster of artists under development. Central to the cause is their own work. Their latest album L.O.V.E was released earlier this year and has been a long time in the making.
