Songbroker Song of the Day : Geoff Ong - 'September'

Auckland based musician Geoff Ong makes soulful pop music bursting with fun, summery, instantly relatable tunes.

In June 2011 Geoff released his self-produced debut EP, Pictures, to rave reviews in local press.

In 2014, Geoff accepted a scholarship to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, moved to Boston, and wasted no time getting acquainted with the city’s music scene. While living there, he released a new EP chronicling his experiences with moving to Boston, aptly titled The Boston EP. Singles from The Boston EP won accolades from The Boston Herald, PopMatters, Songwriting Magazine, and The Music Times, and took Geoff through performances everywhere from the legendary Club Passim in Boston and The Bitter End in NYC, to The Hotel Cafe in LA and the SXSW festival in Austin.

Geoff has since moved back to his home of New Zealand and, after a short musical hiatus, is right back into the local music scene.

'September' is a beautiful R'n'B tinged track reminiscent of Tobias Jesso Jnr, and shows off his smooth vocals and songwriting prowess.
