Yasamin's 'Home' new Air New Zealand campaign song
Air New Zealand has used Yasamin's song 'Home' as the backdrop for their latest 'Making every journey easier' TVC campaign.
'Home' is a lush, tender and slightly whimsical track that fits beautifully with the Air NZ story of parents bidding adieu to their teenage son, leaving the nest for university.
Says Yasamin, "I had just been thinking “when is it time to hang your boots up and call it a day with music? When is it time to say I gave it a good go and it just didn’t work..and who will I be without that dream? what else do I want in life?”. That afternoon I got a phone call from Songbroker telling me the news! It was all I needed to put my head down and get back to working on new music. Thanks for supporting NZ artists and giving me this break right when I needed it"
Yasamin began to pursue her musical dream later in her life. Her sound has drawn comparisons to female musicians such as Corinne Bailey Rae and Ingrid Michaelson and cites her love for lyrics that drew her to music initially.
