SONGBROKER ARTIST PROFILE : AARON CARPENTER

Aaron Carpenter and the Revelators had a great 2015 - releasing their debut E.P. which received rave reviews and playing some memorable shows including The Tuning Fork and The Q Theatre. We caught up with Aaron to ask him a few questions about what got him started.

When did you realise you wanted to make music?

Sitting in on a jam at a trucking company my Dad was driving for, watching the bros sitting on beer crates playing the hits with 3 chords. I was 9

Name two major musical influences and why?

Dylan, because he painted a picture with every song and made you feel like it was personal. Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee power house duo blues on the porch made me tap my foot and talk my parents into buying me a harmonica.

What do you find most challenging about the creative process?

Having the quiet time to let what ever it is happen.

What do you want people to take away from your music?

Something good bad or ugly.  Just something they didn't walk into the room with.  A smile or a tear or even a swagger in their step?

What’s in the pipeline for 2016?

An album and some more shows.
