Joel Haines is a Musician and Composer of utmost integrity, who has managed the no small feat of composing music for films, TVC’s and some of New Zealand’s most popular TV shows such as Westside, Step Dave, The Brokenwood Mysteries, & ‘Outrageous Fortune’.
Joel has received numerous nominations for achievement in original music, at the Qantas media awards and New Zealand television awards.
Recent projects include: The soundtrack for “Westside”(the outrageous fortune prequel), Factual series ‘Artefact’ for Greenstone TV, Step Dave series 1 & 2. Feature Doco “The Price of Peace” about to premier at the NZIFF, The Brokenwood Mysteries Season 1,3 & 4 and TVC soundtracks for Holden, Heineken, TKX Maxx, Warren & Mahoney Architectural Firm, Rinnai, Polaris, and Bach Espresso.
Joel’s work scoring for feature film ‘This Way of Life’ has attracted attention worldwide with a screenings at Sydney, London Documentary, Seattle, Palm Springs, Voncouver & Berlin Film Festivals(where it came second in it’s category) Also Winning the people’s Choice at the Iowa Indie Film Festival. “The Golden Hour” The inspirational story of New Zealand’s greatest-ever day at the Olympics, is a finalist for Best Documentary at the 2013 International Emmy Awards.
