KURT SHANKS JOINS SONGBROKER

Songbroker are excited to welcome Kurt Shanks to the family.

Kurt Shanks' debut album Blood Line Heart marks an intriguing (and critically well received) transition from NZ chart-toppers Stellar*, to solo.

Kurt was with Stellar* right from their first indie EP, through to hits like Violent, Part Of Me, For A While, and their farewell tour in 2010. 

He chose Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios as the venue to record his solo debut, with engineer Neil Baldock, producer Wayne Bell, and key musicians Mark Hughes and Andrew Thorne.

The album's first single, the in-your-face attitude of Shoot To Kill, was playlist on No 1 NZ rock station The Rock. 

In 2014/15 he has been collaborating with Chris van de Geer and Lani Purkis on the Delete Delete project - with the trio honoured as finalists in the International Songwriting Competition. Delete Delete as released three singles, with an album pending.
