Mice On Stilts 'Hope For A Mourning' Album Release

Auckland seven-piece collaboration Mice On Stilts traverse genre distinctions to create their own brand of ‘doom folk,’ described by one reviewer as “a sombre, subtle and slow-to-grow opus that virtually exudes a cinematic aura others of their kind often only allude to.”

 

The 2013 debut EP, An Ocean Held Me was met with high praise from listeners and reviewers alike. Founded on ideas of darkness, empathy and catharsis, these themes extend into their forthcoming coming album, Hope For A Mourning, which capitalises on the diverse range of instruments mastered by these seven skilled musicians.

 

Mice On Stilts have reached beyond the confines of music and collaborated with local artists, photographers, writers and designers to create an art book to accompany the new album, the contents within a direct response to the engaging lyrics and emotional scope of Hope For a Mourning.

 

Hope For A Mourning is  released on April 15th via Aeroplane Music Records and available for purchase on iTunes and all good digital service providers. Hope For A Mourning books plus album downloads will be available from Flying Out record store.
