At a combined age of more than 200, the Moumou Timers are possibly New Zealand's oldest rock band. The exuberance and freshness of their robust pop offerings notwithstanding, the many years in many bands have seen the Moumous distill all their musical experience to produce a clean, clear sound that gels and hums. Anchored by the inventive Steve Doorne on drums and Stefan Wolf on bass, it is Mark Te One's jimi-esque guitar licks and Donna Hitchon's clear-as-a-bell vocals that really lift Moumou Timers music above the ordinary. Their latest album, "Sugar Hit", is the culmination of two years' work for these Kapiti Coasters. From the instantly likeable title track to the album closer "Jack of all Trades", these ten songs are original, accessible and catchy, offering surprising depths of thought. Moumou Timers are currently working on their fourth album, "Procrastinator".
