Lake South unveils new video for 'Andrew & James (Seasons)'

Lake South has unveiled a beautifully tonal and evocative visual for the final single ‘Andrew & James (Seasons)’ from his album The Light You Throw.

“The songs on this album are odes to friends, the cities they live in, and the futures they strive for. This one is for Andrew and James. 2 awesome people from Ontario, Canada.”

The Light You Throw is the third album from Te Whanganui-a-Tara based electric UTOPIA songwriter Lake South. The album was written in the midst of Aotearoa's (first) Level-4 lockdown and recorded at a rented house in Waikawa beach, Marty’s place in Takapau, Avalon Studios (drums), and Lake’s flat.

From the anxiety of the pandemic Lake South has created a record full of hope, joy and defiance.

This collection follows 2017's If You're Born On An Island the Ocean Heals You and the follow-up, Wellington | Te Upoko O Te Ika, in late 2019. Both records were critically acclaimed with Graham Reid calling Lake an “electro-folk poet of his doubting generation”.
