Songbroker Song of the Day: Jocee Tuck - 'Weep'
Jocee Tuck is a melody writer who likes to play wooden instruments and heavenly bell mallet noise instruments.
She was also in a band called Bear Cat and likes to sing in forests and mountains.
In recent years Tuck has released her debut album Mount Dora. With a maximalist vision that combines Sufjan Stevens-esque fanfare, doo-wop harmony and alt-country wistfulness - her performances with concert xylophone and ensemble are a unique spectacle that has critics and fans spellbound.
Some of Jocee’s songs from Mount Dora were featured extensively in the 2019 Documentary film The Big Fat Lie.
Her song ‘Weep’ from Mount Dora, is equal parts heartfelt and uplifting with its percussive xylophone, horns and marching drums punctuated by Tuck’s strong melodies and beautiful voice.
