Songbroker Song of the Day: Lizard Prom - 'Betty Goes To Hell'
Lizard Prom are a four-piece tour-de-force alternative rock band from Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Previously named Queens of Beauty School, the group originally formed in mid-2014 and were known for their moody, atmospheric rock; dreamy, with an aggressive undercurrent.
At the start of 2019 the band renamed themselves as Lizard Prom, continuing with the sound they had established in the years prior. They then recorded and released their self-titled debut EP, featuring the single 'Betty Goes to Hell' along with the accompanying video. The track stayed in the Radio One Top 11 for 12 weeks, peaking at number 1 in February. It was also playlisted by 95bFM.
