Mecuzine release debut album Cutting Strings
Auckland indie rock band Mecuzine have just released their debut album Cutting Strings.
Decades of performing, touring and recording nationally and abroad make these five musicians a formidable combination - each with their own story to tell from their time with various bands including Hello Sailor, National Anthem, The Cure, Shade, Child and First Base to name a few.
Mecuzine play with attitude, honesty and raw, unrelenting energy. Combine their experience with solid songwriting, subtle arrangements, and diverse musical influences and you have a dynamic band well worth la listen.
Case in point is their latest single 'Don't Fire That Gun', a hard-hitting anti-gun story, possessing a driving backbeat, thumping piano and escalating, intense guitars. The song received warm praise from the likes of Muzic.net.nz who described the track as "a song with a profound intensity, both lyrically and instrumentally".
Cutting Strings was recorded at Silverpoint Studios, Auckland and mastered in Nashville, engineered by Kane Bennett. and co-produced by Kane Bennett and Mecuzine.
Mecuzine celebrates Cutting Strings with an album release show at the Dogs Bollix tonight, Friday the 13th July. For more info head to Eventfinda or the Mecuzine Facebook page.
