Jaggers X Lines Unveil new music video

Jaggers x Lines is the musical pairing of Morgan Smillie and Eliana Gray. They make sideways, scratched up electro-pop with tender lyrics and turntablist sensibilities.

The video for last year's well-received single 'Come To Rest' was shot over a single day in Berlin's Hasenheide park on a six dollar budget by Gray and acclaimed NZ-born, Berlin-based director Joey Bania.

A decided tension introduces and underlays the unexpectedly upbeat offering from Dunedin's resident electro-pop duo. The second single off Last year's debut Ep 'Letters', 'Come To Rest' is a mediation on restlessness. The friction between  Gray's fluid vocals and introspective lyrics bouncing in and around Morgan Smillie's sparsely pop-focused production create a sparking track that never allows itself to settle. A feeling captured perfectly by Gray and Bania in the intimate and confronting video.

Says' Gray of the video's representation of their experiences of mental illness, "Watch me peel my skin off, let me heal before your eyes."

The video has its premiere on NZ alt music site Under The Radar.

A release show is happening on Friday April 6th at the Captain Cook Hotel in Dunedin, simultaneously celebrating Astro Children's release of the 7" of their latest single 'Beneath The Visible Surface'.
