LUNAVELA UNVEILS NEW SINGLE 'LOVE IN STRANGE PLACES'
Auckland based electro pop artists Lunavela aka Steve Mathieson has just released a brand new single 'Love In Strange Places' from a forthcoming E.P. to be released in September.
'Love In Strange Places' is a heady mix of Daft Punk crossed with Brit 80's synth pop groups such as Human League.
Formerly of Auckland indie outfit Collapsing Cities, Mathieson's new material is a departure from the guitar based songs of his previous band and is best described as synth dream pop. All songs on his forthcoming E.P. were written around upright piano, bass lines and synth riffs.
Says Mathieson, “I would describe my songs as storytelling based songs about love, relationship breakdowns and intimacy etc.”
His first two singles ‘Burn For You’ and ‘British Amelia’ are both lush electronic offerings with hypnotic percussion, synth hooks and catchy yearning vocals.
