LOST DEMOS RELEASE 4-TRACK E.P. 'VIVA LOST DEMOS'

Lost Demos humbly describe themselves as Waitakere's premiere psychedelic swamp-folk, alt-country act.

Created in the West Auckland seaside studio of musician and composer Peter Hobbs (from Dunedin bands Kitset and Lesley Speaker), the line-up of musicians is an ever-changing dynamic of the band. Regularly seen are Peter Hobbs (guitar, vocals, stompbox), Jon Baxter (trumpet and general pandemonium), Puck Murphy (banjo, accordion).

Just released is their 4-track EP Viva Lost Demos, which is the first band release in 17 years for musician Peter Hobbs, whose focus has been on writing soundtracks for film, television, dance and art projects.

His last album was with his band Kitset, whose album, Testpot, was released in 1999, and the same year nominated for Best Rock/Pop Release, Best New Act and Best Independent Release at the 1999 BNet NZ Music Awards.

Lost Demos are performing at The Wine Cellar on Wednesday February 22nd and  will feature songs from the EP as well as music from Hobbs' upcoming concept album about the Maungatapu murders (a Nick Cave-esque obsession with the incredible story of the Burgess gang murders in 1866).
