New Covers E.P. for Will Saunders

Auckland musician Will Saunders is set to release his new covers e.p. entitled I Know That We Are Not New - out Friday December 15th.

Saunders cose the following songs because:

"Eight Miles High - The Byrds

I was playing what I thought was a great new riff for a song. Worked on it for about half an hour before I realised I’d just worked out Eight Miles High…. Can’t be ripping things off so thought I’d cover it instead.

Bloody Hammer

Another song I became obsessed with by the great Roky Erickson. …Waking up in the night with the lyrics running through my head etc. Had to exorcise it by recording it.

Soviet Snow - Shona Laing

A fantastic song I’ve always loved by a NZ treasure. I nearly sang it too…

Hey That’s No Way To Say Goodbye - Leonard Cohen

Having always loved his first album especially, I learned this for a sold out tribute show at The Wine Cellar a few months back. Anything to get a peek into a room in The Tower Of Song."
