BAREBONES AND CABARET

BAREBONES AND CABARET

After playing gigs around New Zealand with local and international bands, Matt Yearbook met a group of like-minded people in Tauranga and formed the band BareBones and Cabaret.

After playing many gigs and working on a batch of around 30 original songs, the band recorded a selection of tracks live in the studio over the course of two days to capture the energy of a live show.

Their eponymous debut LP was released in 2010 and is informed by the likes of Neil Young’s album On the Beach, ‘60s psychedelia and British Invasion groups, plus a shared love of the post-punk and alt-country movements.

Matt Yearbook is also writing and performing solo again, this time under his real name, Matthew P Schobs with a debut e.p. in the works.
