Abraham Kunin is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, music director and producer. His most notable endeavors include releases with Coach and The Means, and pivotal roles on a number of stage productions, including The Words and Music of Jaques Brel (bandleader/guitarist), Midsummer (MD), Daffodils (co-arranger/bandmember), and Porch Songs (MD/bandmember). He also appeared as house guitarist for The X Factor (NZ).
In addition to performing alongside some of New Zealand's top artists, Abraham's training has encompassed formal study (he has a BMus in Jazz from the University of Auckland), and that of traditional Khayal style Hindustani music under flautist Nitin Amin, in Pune, India.
Today, Abraham is in full demand, contributing soundtrack and sound design to a number of projects. He has recently worked in the advertising space, directing the music on a Saatchi & Saatchi campaign for Lexus. He collaborates with a range of musicians, including Home Brew, Esther Stephens, Noah Slee, Junelle, Tama Waipara, and Bailey Wiley. Abraham is proud to be a member of the Elixir® Strings Artist Program.
Alongside his duties as a musician, Abraham writes music reviews for both online and print publications.
He cites receiving the Sign O' The Times double cassette for his 6th birthday from his older sister as a catalyst in his obsession with music.
